Massage Session FAQ's

What should I know before my massage?

This is your time to relax and rejuvenate so try not to be coming from stressful, rushed activities before your treatment. I recommend a warm shower or bath before I arrive in order to start relaxing your mind and body. If you don’t have the time, try to sit down for a few quiet moments and do some deep breathing to start getting into a relaxed state. Don’t forget to turn your cellphone off and make sure there will be no interruptions.

I also recommend scheduling your massage at a time when you have some time after to bask in your relaxed state either napping, reading or meditation.

Should I eat before my massage?

There is no set rule on exactly how much water you should drink or food you should eat before a massage, but it's important that you're well hydrated and your blood sugar is balanced before heading into your session.

What do I need to do to prepare my space?

I will need an open area free of furniture and tripping hazards to set up my table with enough room to move freely around it. Please make sure the area is private and quiet to avoid distractions. If pets cannot sit quietly, please arrange to secure them in a different area. During warmer weather, we can even set up in an outside area if it is private and shaded. I provide the music, if preferred.

Do I fill out an intake form before the session?

You are required to fill out a thorough health intake form before your session so that you can make me aware of any injuries, skin conditions or contraindications as well as any areas where you would like specific focus. You will be able to fill out the confidential form online which you will receive in an email 24 hours before your appointment. If anything changes between filling out your form and your appointment, please let me know when I arrive before the treatment.

What should I wear?

Please undress to your comfort level as you will be discreetly and properly draped with sheets and a blanket at all times. I will step out of the room at the beginning and end of the treatment to allow you to get on and off the table in private.

What kind of oil do you use?

For all massages, I use a USDA certified organic high-quality massage oil that is fragrance-free, nut-free and gluten-free. I also provide complementary aromatherapy if you would like me to use therapeutic grade essential oils during your treatment.

Do I need to tip?

For your convenience, the price of the massage includes gratuity so you can sit back and relax--no cash needed!

Do I need to supply anything?

Nope! I supply everything including table, sheets, oils and music. Of course, if you have a massage table that you would like to use instead, that is no problem... just let me know!

Do you offer massage packages or a monthly membership?

Yes! The first option is to purchase a 5-Session Package where you will receive discounted pricing off of the regular price. Just go to Buy a Membership and scroll down to see your package options when booking. This is perfect if you are working on a chronic pain or injury and know that you will require regular massage for your treatment.

Option two would be to sign up for a monthly membership to receive one (1) massage monthly at a discounted rate. This is a great choice if you know that you like to keep up with one massage a month and is recommended for general maintenance.
